Please Review: Important Information Regarding Overdraft Privilege Program
If you are enrolled in Overdraft Privilege, now known as Courtesy Pay, this service provides two types of protection to its members. The first permits Leominster Credit Union to pay certain items, such as checks, bill-pay transactions, and electronic payments (ACH) even when there are not sufficient funds in your account to cover that item. The second type of Courtesy Pay, Courtesy Pay Plus, requires you to opt-in for additional coverage, and allows the Credit Union to pay everyday debit and ATM transactions.1
Beginning on June 7, 2022, in order for your account to be eligible for the Courtesy Pay and Courtesy Pay Plus services LCU will require the following:
- For new members, your account must be open for no less than 30 calendar days.
- Your account must have a minimum of $400.00 in deposit activity every 90 days. Qualifying deposit methods include cash, direct deposit/ACH or check deposits.
If you do not meet the eligibility criteria listed above, you will no longer have access to Leominster Credit Union’s courtesy pay service(s). 2 If you have previously given us authorization to pay overdrafts on ATM and one-time debit transactions, also known as Courtesy Pay Plus, this will be removed from your account along with your Courtesy Pay Limit. Please be aware that while your Courtesy Pay limit will be automatically reinstated when you meet the eligibility criteria listed above, you will need to give us authorization to pay overdrafts on ATM and everyday debit transactions again. This service will not be automatically reinstated. This may result in certain transactions being declined in instances where you do not have sufficient funds to cover the amount of the transaction. In this case, you will be charged a non-sufficient funds fee.
If you have any questions, or you would like information about other Overdraft Protection options such as a transfer from another deposit account with us or an overdraft line of credit,3 please contact us at 800-649-4646 or visit your nearest branch location.
1 There are fees associated with the courtesy pay & courtesy pay plus service. As of November 1, 2021, our non-sufficient funds and overdraft fees are $30 per item presented. Per item presented means each time an item is presented, including representment.
2 This is a discretionary service and could be revoked at any time without prior notice to you.
3 The overdraft line of credit requires credit approval.
